I restock the wood closet every day.
I‘m sleeping in often-- long nights, cold gray.
The heat fire sizzles and the chimney smokes.
I’ve put away summer, and retrieved winter coats.
Our vehicles prepared, and the snow blower fixed.
I’m digging the root crops in my wooly warm mitts.
Outdoor tasks now replaced with the “ in”.
I’m relaxed on the couch, with a book and my pen.
The humidifier-ON, and slippers to boot.
I’ve set out my skiis, snow-shoes and suit.
