Food Chain, Natures Balance

Much better than TV, are the things we see outside.

The ravens eat a rabbit. Eagles dive and glide.

It’s intense to watch the birds war against a raptor.

Gull eggs are a meal. Vultures are getting fatter.

It’s easy to take sides when innocence becomes a meal.

Nature has her ways.  We are food—for real.

This has a way of hitting us right between the eyes.

Overkill is bad. Those who waste should probably die.

Cormorants make me angry. They kill more than they chew.

Humans also do this.  Our garbage shows we do.

If we discard excess and arrogance replaces grace.

Then we’re blind to beauty and have lost our sense of place.
